Born Gregory Bortey Newman, he made this known in a recent interview he had with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM.
According to him, he went off social media for the first time and he decided to do so just to focus on his forthcoming album.
“I have stopped writing songs for people. There’s no particular reason. Just needed time to focus on me. First of all, I have to be a fan of your music before I will be able to write for you.
I don’t really sign a split sheet when it comes to my artiste-friends. Usually, publishing takes care of that.
I went off social media for the first time to focus on my forthcoming album. We have everything it takes to do it. We just have to know the right plugs.”
This comes after he recently grabbed a new deal as he got signed on 5K Records, Sony Music Entertainment.
5K Records is with the objective of breaking international boundaries by signing the award-wining songwriter on the label.
For the year 2021, King Promise will undoubtedly be looking forward to establishing himself as a household name around the world.
Fans are in for a real treat from the artist, as he has a slew of projects in the works.
While unveiling his new contract, King Promise took to social media to show off the visuals for his newest single, “Alright,” which features Africa’s Dancehall King, Shatta Wale.
He captioned the post; 🚨🚨🚨!!! Happy & Pleased. Let’s take it to the world 💚
